These whimsical shelters are designed to engage children’s imagination and inspire a sense of wonder.  Designed as a conceptual exercise for a nonprofit aimed at reconnecting youth to the outdoors, these shelters are part of an ongoing series of explorations on ways to provide shelter without interrupting the wonder of nature.  The shelter’s design consists of a single arched element that can be infinitely expanded depending on the needs and/or limitations of the specific site.  Constructed primarily of sustainable, renewable, long-lasting engineered wood members, the structures tread lightly on the earth both literally and figuratively.
