The design of the East Village Parking Garage sought to enhance its urban environment with a rhythmic, sculptural building facade and serve as the backdrop for a public art project. The custom textured finish for the precast concrete structural panels creates a rich and dynamic pattern, while perforated aluminum panels create punched openings used for ventilation and daylight for the garage. Parking garages are not typically known for their contribution to the aesthetics of a city, but this garage breaks the mold in more ways than one.
