This new 70,000 square foot office building is a conceptual study for a dynamic and transformative urban development proposal.  The final design is a careful balance between daylight and solar orientation, optimizing views and maximizing a compact footprint. Views and daylight are controlled by a series of concrete and brick panels, sized differently on each floor, optimized for orientation to maximize good views and daylight while minimizing glare and solar heat gain.

 

Instead of maxing out the footprint of the building on the site, the design team recommended adding vertical space to the structure to allow for additional green space at the pedestrian level, creating a new, engaging public courtyard for public use and private events.
