The Parkview Drugstore sits proudly at a prominent intersection near downtown Kansas City, Missouri.  It is an a-typical single-story building surrounded primarily by adaptive reuse multifamily and commercial construction.  Parkview anchors the end of a thriving revitalized community in the city and the new design renews the energy and vigor of this once proud structure.

 

Originally constructed in the late 1940’s, the Parkview Drugstore has seen numerous renovations and tenants, but sat vacant for nearly a decade.  When the opportunity arose to revitalize this once proud building, the owner opted to renovate the building into one that would serve the surrounding community and provide office and retail space for local businesses to thrive. The entire building enclosure was removed and replaced with new brick and storefront glazing, new entrances, lighting, signage and landscaping. This project is at the heart of Midtown in Kansas City and a part of a renaissance of commercial and residential properties in the area.

 

The final scope of the project includes a complete reimagining of the exterior with all new brick facade, windows, streetscape and building systems.
